Charcoal grey British wool fingerless gloves
I have hand-knit these lovely fingerless gloves using a blend of some of the softest of British wools: 50% Bluefaced Leicester, 25% Wensleydale Longwool, and 25% Masham. This gorgeous wool has been dyed to a dark charcoal grey; elegant and practical.
I have knitted a ribbed cuff to slip under your coat to keep the draughts out. The back of the hand has a narrow cable design, while the palm is plain. The gloves end in a band of rib, leaving your fingertips clear to use your phone or doorkey easily. The sweet little "Roses Workshop" brand label is laser etched faux leather.
They measure 20cm (8 inches) long including the cuff, 15cm (6 inches) for the hand section, and the knit is stretchy enough to fit most average adult hands. Gentle hand wash recommended.
I love working with the many different wools produced here from British breeds of sheep.
The Blue-faced Leicester looks down it's long roman nose at you. It is the skin which is dark blue/grey colour - the wool is white and curly, and one of the softest in the UK.
The Wensleydale is from Yorkshire; it has long shiny, crinkly wool that looks like dreadlocks.
Masham sheep are medium sized and hornless, with very long and lustrous fleece. They have been bred for over a century in the north of England.
